Rimonabant kick out obesity

Sanofi-Synthelabo, a French Pharmaceutical Company created Rimonabant (Acomplia and possibly Zimulti) which is a new drug treatment for obesity and possibly other ailments. This diet pill was officially approved in Britain on June 28th 2006, which could lead the way to having the FDA approve it in the United States by mid summer, 2007. But no guarantees, The FDA has strick policies regarding new medications on the market. Acomplia (Rimonabant or Zimulti) diet pills offer hope for obese individuals, especially where other treatments had little affect or the side effects where too much to handle. This medication (as any) obviously does not come without some potential side effects. Rimonabant works differently than other weight-loss pills, and has other potential benefits. Studies also show that it increases levels of HDL (good cholesterol) while at the same time reducing LDL (bad cholesterol). It could also possibly be used for smoking cessation, although not officially approved for that purpose (yet). Basically, Rimonabant suppresses ones appetite. It works by blocking a cellular receptor in the endocannabinoid system of the brain, believed to influence the regulation of body weight, glucose, and fat metabolism. In doing so it is believed that this regulation then reduces the craving to eat more. Clinical Studies have shown that 33% of people taking Rimonabant lost 10% of body weight and kept their weight down for two years which is extremely newsworthy as no other diet drug has accomplished this for so long a period. It also holds huge potential for the people wanting to kick the smoking habit and ‘may’ help curb other substance addictions such as cocaine, marijuana, and alcohol. While FDA held up Sanofi’s diet drug Rimonabant(Acomplia/Zimul ti),the Merck’s MK-0364(Taranbant) is currently in phase-3 which is as effective for weight loss as rimonabant having some side effects. The interim results of phase-3 trial of Taranabant have not been reported by the Merck. These results could be different from the anecdotal report. In the trial it was found that the weight loss pill was well tolerated in extensive phase-2.The Merck is looking forward FDA approval for it next year. Pfizer, which also contains CB-1 receptor antagonist in phase-3 trials has not moved forward with a name which is known as CP-945598. In June, 2007 there will be a meeting of FDA advisory panel on rimonabant about the safety issues of drugs which affect receptors in the brain. There are many online pharmacies related with this article from where you can buy rimonabant and many other weight loss pills.

5 Randoms Acts Of Kindness That Will Surprise Your Fellow Bloggers!

1. Give Them Some Link Love

Mention them in your posts, say how great they are and how much you loved one of their posts. They may return the favour, but besides that people never give credit where it is due, and you will make them feel so special - especially if they are a newer blogger than you.

2. Be A Generous Blogger

There are so many possibilities with this one but a few possibilities are donating to other bloggers contests, reviewing their blog or their new product that they have created. And don't think since you havn't got a product to donate to a contest that you can help them. Offer an advertising spot on your blog for a month or even a website review - there are so many possibilities to be generous, will you take them?

3. Be Approachable

Do you make it easy for other bloggers to contact you, or do you portray yourself in a way that they might be a bit wary. I am not meaning having a contact for or page (although I do need to get myself one of these), but do you welcome new bloggers requests for assistance. This is a great opportunity to build your network, and who knows one of these 'inexperienced bloggers' may become more popular than you - it is always good to have a wide range of contacts.

4. Offer To Guest Blog

Think back to when you started blogging. How would you have felt if a more experienced blogger offered to do a guest blog on your blog? You would have felt like you could conquer the world - and it may be the one thing that stops them from giving up on blogging.

5. Reward Your Top Commenters With Prizes

I know a lot of people are offering link love to their top commenters, but think of how they would feel if you could give them a gift as well. Whether it be a tangible product like a t-shirt, or an electronic product like and ebook or advertisement spot on your blog, you will gain a few raving fans and possibly a couple of links backs as they tell all their friends about what you gave them! (This is something I will be implimenting after my redesign)

All these things are not hard at all. They Just require an investment of time and a little money (but that is what asking for prize donations is for), but you know what? The majority of you will not do these because it is too much effort and the results from your investment are not instant.

Don't Wait For "Bad News" Before You Quit Smoking

It's repeated over and over that smoking is an extremely dangerous habit. Many who have tried to quit smoking after years of lighting up wish they'd never started. That's the advice any doctor or quit smoking clinic will tell you. "Don't start." Once you've gotten into the habit, however, that advice is a little late. If you missed that early advice, don't miss this. "Don't wait for bad news before you quit smoking." Any smoker will tell you how difficult it is to quit smoking. Almost all smokers fail to quit their first and sometimes their second, third, and more tries. In the end, it all comes down to your determination to quit smoking. No one can force you to quit smoking. In all likelihood, no one can convince you to quit either, except perhaps your doctor. By the time your doctor gives you this advice, it could already be too late. At best, he's seen something in your tests to indicate a rising problem or a potential health issue related to smoking. Perhaps this is the bad news you need to convince you to quit smoking. But why wait? Only you can make that final decision. Only you can build the will necessary to quit smoking. How can you do that when smoking has become such a part of your life? Visiting a cancer clinic or hospital might help. Go into the wards where people are dying of cancer and talk to them. Talk to the doctors about how cancer can devastate your body. A recent article features a man who developed a serious illness that caused him to lose some of his fingers. The doctor warned him that his smoking would make the condition worse. This was all the convincing he needed. He certainly didn't want to lose any more fingers. He admits it wasn't easy to quit smoking after 37 years, 2 packs a day. At that point, smoking was as natural as "shopping for groceries," he says. It's now eight months since he quit smoking, but he still has cravings that he struggles to deny. The important thing is that he's being realistic about all the ramifications of quitting and the importance of quitting. Then, he found a reason to quit smoking, and then he did quit. The first step was to get a product from his doctor to ward off his cravings, but after two weeks he realized he'd have to go it alone. Being strong-willed, he was able to quit for good. If you are convinced it's time to quit smoking, there are a number of local services to help you, including the Lung Association, clinics and hospitals.
